Ok guys first of all the link to eVGA

This Card has
650mhz Core Clock like the GTX
24 pixel pipelines like the GTX
1320mhz memory unlike the GTX 1600

Since this is one of the special cards like teh X800 GTo2 or MSi 512mb Edition of the X1800 XL which turned all out to be downclocked cards or bios locked cards this one will be very similar.

Zipzoomfly has this 7900 GTO (while nobody else seems to have it) 512mb PCi Express with 7900 GTX Cooler on it for $250 Dollar. This card should blow a 7950 GT away for $50 bucks less. The 7950 GT's have a bit more memory mhz but less core.

However i think and soon i can be sure about that, this card uses the same memory then a 7900 GTX, it will be available in limited quantity and soon be sold out when the word spreads.

So i give you the choice of getting one of these bad boy NVidia Cards which i believe is a simple downclocked GTX for the price of $250 Dollar.

Here's a link showing it going up against an X1900XT 256 among others...

I think you should ask, "difference between this and the 7900GTX?"

well they are all the same card dude. pretty much.

In for one.

Will be an upgrade from my 7800GT

It's basically 7900GTX with downclocked RAM. It is known to overclock to GTX levels and beyond.

SUPER HOT.

Wish somebody would buy my 7800GT...
I wish somebody would by my 6800GT.

Edit: Damn, this card even has 512 MB of VRAM!

I hate PC's... My $300 video card from a few months ago beaten by this $250 vid card... I need a new hobby...

I was just saying that this card is the same as a 7900GTX and that the 7900GT can not compare to it. Sorry if my words were confusing.

off topic, but can't help but reminisce that seven months ago my 7800 gtx was considered the top-of-the-line graphics card. how the mighty have fallen...

on topic, i suppose i can wait.

If you think that's bad, about 2 weeks after I bought my 6800GT, the 7800GT was introduced for only a few bucks more. :(

I just bought one from mwave, only $10 for 2nd day air fedex shipping. Thanks should be a good upgrade from my 7800gt.

I need advice and fast - I ordered a 1900xtx YESTERDAY. 479 + $150 rebate (there's been a thread about it)...

I *had* previously been set on ATI, but I'm not really a hardware loyalist, so I'm trying to figure out if this new GTO is worth paying a restocking fee for. 250 vs 329 is still 79 bucks......

I dunno. I did NOT need to make this decision today. :( So do I kill my existing order, and buy a GTO? heh.

I don't think this card is HDCP compliant.

Sucks.

Oh well happy with my SLi 7950GT's

One of the techs on the EVGA forum said that this card is NOT HDCP compliant.

no i said 7950gt. 7900gtx 7950gt and 7900gto are all pretty much the same just diff clocks. they all got 512mb.

Whats the benefit with HDCP? Is HDCP worth $50 more? I got the 7950GT and I dont know if ill ever use the HDCP. Both of these cards come with HDTV encoders.

Playing HD movies on your PC I think.

Hmmm, Wouldnt you think youd be able to play HD movies by just Connecting an HD-DVD player in your Component Input on the 7900GTO?

Back in stock at ZZF for $10 more.

Here are the 7 series cards in order of performance per a mod on the eVGA forums:
1. How does this fit in the product line up? Better/worse than the 7950GT? 7900GTX?
1) Here's the order in performance, more or less:
7950GX2
7900GTX
7900GTO
7950GT
7900GT 512MB
7900GT
7800GTX 512MB
7800GTX
7900GS
7800GT
7600GT
7600GS
7300GT
7300GS
7100GS

Looks like a new price/performance enthusiast leader to me... the x1900xt 256MB is dethroned!

God I love competition. It is a beautiful thing.

There is no component input on the 7900GTO, nor just about any other card for that matter. Teh most video input capability you will have with any video card will be S-Video and Composite.

And I don't think the 7900GTO even has VIVO capability, which means no video in at all.

If you decide later on down the road to get a HDCP compliant monitor or TV you will need to get a HDCP enabled video card.

Well, I just got one for my back-up system. I hate you guys for making me spend money.

what are the chances the new DX 10 cards will be out before my trade in timer ends if I order the card now? 50/50?

Wow and I just bought an evga 7950gt for $300 ?

Its almost the same perfomance right ?

see post #28.

so tempted to bite... swap out 1x 7800 gtx for 2x 7900 gto... perfect chance to go SLI...

edit: actually, it's pretty close. the 7900 gto is almost the same as the 7900 gtx with underclocked memory and no HDCP support (based on earlier posts).

i dont get it why people are buying 2 of these, you might as well just buy a 7900gx2 same price as buying 2 of these cards...maybe im wrong?

Because if they no longer feel like dealing with two they can just sell one and keep the other. Isn't two of these in SLi faster than a 7900GX2 or 7950GX2??
