Hello all. i had this card for awhile now and i could have sworn when i first installed it i saw dxdiag and display prop showing it at 1024MB mem on the dang thing. now though when i check its at 512. i googled some threads and couldn't find a good answer to why this is. i dont know if this is a big deal since most games i can play no prob but if i spent the money on a 1 gig card and i'm showing 512.. i think i've been cheated...though i repeat that when i first got it i could have sworn it showed 1 gig.

Its got 1 gb total , but only a 512mb frame buffer... its 2x512mb in sli.

why did u show that? lol i just said... its 2x512 cards. Its not 1gb buffer... its basically 2 512mb 7900gt's in sli stuck together to go in 1 slot. Sli doesnt combine memory it mirrors it to both cards.
 
How do i know its mirroring it or just sees 512? there a way to check to see if both cards are acting as 1..
 
Go into your nvidia control panel , it will only show 512mb coz its in sli... like i said sli doesnt combine the memory , the second card mirrors the info of the first card.
 
its not a 1 gig card, that was a marketing gimmick. its like the above poster said, you didn't get cheated. 512mb x 2. each card has 512mb of ram.
