Hey, so I sold a computer to a friend a little bit ago so I reinstalled windows XP tested it, installed drivers and everything was good. Now I'm in college and he is telling me that after he uses the computer for an extended period of time (like 4hrs +) then shuts it down, the fan stays on. Then when he tries to push the power button it does nothing.
He has to flip the PSU switch off then back on and then push the pwr button and everything is fine.
It didn't do this with my previous windows install (it was a different version).
Does it sound like the comp is going into "Suspend" or something? Could the computer somehow confuse "shutdown" and "suspend"?
