Advanced Micro Devices Inc. said Monday the U.S. Department of Justice closed an investigation into the pricing and marketing practices of ATI Technologies Inc.'s graphics processing units with no action recommended.
Sunnyvale-based AMD (NYSE:AMD) bought Markham, Ontario-based ATI (NASDAQ:ATYT) in 2006 in a deal valued at about $5.4 billion.
About five months later AMD said ATI received a subpoena from the Justice Department relating to the antitrust probe.
