Cooling on the VRAM looks a bit iffy, eh? Interesting at least, I love everything else. Would love to see some temperatures with it overclocked. Might be one of the only solutions for overclocked CF 4870s that DON'T sound like a jet engine. :p

I should say, one of the only solutions for me at least. Tri-slot-per-card CF doesn't fit with my Asus Rampage Formula or whatever it's called. :p

I almost bet we wont see one. Did they ever make anything other then a waterblock for the 3870x2?

Yup, water cooling ...

Games Convention 08: Makes the card much thinner

We had a chance to meet up with guys from CoolIT just to take a look at their HD 4870 X2 cold plate. The card looks great as it is much thinner than the one that is cooled by reference air cooling.

The card is connected to the CoolIT all-in-one solution that has a pump, cooler, and a radiator in a single box that is mounted on the back of the case. According to the guys from CoolIT this keeps the card as cool and silent as possible.

Asetec is making a waterblock for 4870 X2 as well as is Danger Den. They should be out in a couple weeks.

Considering how much head these suckers put off, I'm actally consider this with another radiator.

It's 800 on the core out of the box too. Maybe we'll get lucky and it will have slightly more vcore for a potential higher OC.
