firewall software for osx

i am looking for a software firewall that will tell me about OUTGOING traffic

i found littlesnitch but thats not free i am looking for free.

Are you just wanting to monitor, or actively block?

i am looking to monitor w/ the ability to block applications

i used sygate personal firewall on my xp box until i got a mac, and can't find anything similar and free.

I don't know about any real free native OS X options, but I'd suggest looking at "UNIX" software. Ie, open source Linux command line interface stuff. It usually works.

Another vote for Little Snitch. I have used it for years.
