Flashing a 290 to a 290x

I'm experienced in doing this with the old school nvidia cards, any guides and how hard is it overall. Anyone done this and what have your results been. Is this and easy way to save 150 ish on a sapphire tri-x 290x vs 290?

Not all 290s can be fashed to 290xs, mine can't. You need to run some memory info program to see if you have the right gpu.

Excellent good guide there. Guess if I can't unlock it it can become a phyx card to the two top-end maxwells I'll buy unless amd shows strong

AMD cards can't be used for Nvidia's Physx.

It can, but not the way hes doing it. Hybrid Physx works but AMD -> nVidia not the other way around.

Personally on the nVidia side, I wouldn't buy anything other than a 780, dedicated Physx cards are really a thing of the past though.
