I have a Shuttle AK31 with a non-functioning floppy connector. Does a floppy connector to IDE adapter exist (and would it function propertly)? If not, what is a method that I could use to update the BIOS or run Disk Utility Apps to test possibly damaged Hard Drives?

you could burn bootable cd's using the floppies you want as the boot image. you could even throw all the other diag utils onto the rest of the cd, as long as the boot disk has cdrom drivers.

It makes a virtual a: with the contents from the boot floppy you image. (nero & adaptec support this at least).

fuck the floppy, i mean seriously do u really need it? how often do u use a floppy, throw away, or u can use it as a paper weight.

Floppies still have there uses, for those small little files that you dont want to put on a whole CD... and thats about all. Anyways back to your question... are you Sure its the connector? Not the cable? Are there any bent pins?
