For people considering a new computer now...

In light of the recent AMD K8L info, what should people do if they're considering a new computer?

EDIT:
I'm going to end up using it for:
- Medium gaming (WoW, Oblivion, BF2, some new DX10 stuff when it comes out)
- Linux (yes, I use it)
- Not much overclocking (I don't plan on going that far on my overclocks)
- Graphics work (I do a lot of photo work)
- General stuff

For gaming purposes: wait for DX10 and Barcelona (K8L)
for nongaming purposes: go Conroe or wait for kentsfield at the end of the year.

I'm probably going Conroe - even if K8L completely blows intel out of the water, an intel will still be enough for a while.
