So here's what happened...

My friend dropped his notebook (Latitude D500) on the back side where the power supply connects to the unit. Then it won't start up again. No beeps, no lights, nothing.

He asked me if I could revive it.
Well, I checked the exterior and no cracks or anything out of place.
I shook the unit to see if I could hear anything that may have come loose, and nothing.
Grabed my small screwdriver and took it all apart.
Just by looking at it, everything is in place.
memory, hdd, processor all seated properly.
Checked all connectors and reseated them.

So, I put the notebook back together again.

Now, here's one thing I noticed, when i plug the powersupply to the outlet (not connected to the notebook yet), i see a green light on it. As soon as i plug it in to the notebook, the light disappears. The battery is also fully charged (based on the internal battery check). So, I'm thinking/guessing there's a short on the connection where as soon as i plug in the power supply, it cuts out to protect itself.

Any ideas if I'm at least on the right track?
Thanks

I agree, I would check where the input from the power supply adapter connects to the laptop and make sure that all the wiring and stuff are intact Also check the board to make sure that none of the soldering came apart or detached.
