Now here's the rub. It's brand spanking new but with no limited warranty. I got this disk in a bulk trade, and all-but-one of the disks have a 5 year warranty. I used 2 disks for a RAID0 in my server, so I figured I'd sell the 3rd and pass the savings on to someone. The only activity this disk has seen is about 15 minutes worth of work for testing purposes. I opened up the factory sealed packaging, hooked it up to my PC, and made sure the drive tested OK with Western Digital's "Data Lifeguard" diag CD.
This disk is not a retail package. It is the bare drive only, with SATA cable and SATA power adapter.
WD says the distributor is 'supermicro', but don't know if it's possible to get the warranty through them. It will not be available through WD Directly.
