I bought this adapter from Dell a while ago to use for eyefinity with my 5870. I have since sold the 5870 and moved on to a 6950 w/ single link adapter for eyefinity. This adapter is basically the same one as here http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...etail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=330-5521 .
The only issue I had with this adapter was that I could not update drivers past 10.3b in eyefinity with the 5870. When using drivers newer than 10.3b, the monitor using the DP connection would go to sleep periodically. To turn it back on, I would have switch display configuration profiles using hotkeys. With the 10.3b drivers or older however, it worked flawlessly.
In reading through the threads on [H], I found that it was a common issue with the dual-link adapters and the 5870. However, when using just the adapter alone in a non-eyefinity set up, it worked fine. In a recent thread I created, a user believed it would work fine with the 6950 (http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1614262) but my 6950 uses miniDP so I am not able to verify.
