Im just trying to understand what you mean about over tightening one of the screws on the 5970? Is there damage to the screw or threads?
 
Yeah, thanks for being honest, but that's a little scary on a $450 graphics card. Why didn't you unovertighten it?

It's just one of the screws on the X bracket is slightly stripped, but the screw itself is still operational.

Honestly there's nothing scary about it, it's one of 4 screws on one of the X bracket's still 110% functional... and if I had another screw that small I would just replace and all is perfect again.
This is [H]! What? You scared from a stripped screw :eek:
