It had a blu ray drive, which I plan to swap out for a dvd-burner. I also think I have another dvd burner from another laptop pull.

what specific model are you yanking parts from? .. I'm looking for the DC jack and cable for a DV73xxxdx series .. not all DV7 series use the same plug in to the mobo I've found ..
