Hello all,

I've been having some troubles in when playing HL Source engine and I'm starting to think it's the PS. So I figured I'd consult our resident PS gawds.

System specs:
Athlon X2 @ 2.5Ghz @ 1.6v
DFI Infinity SLI
1GB DDR @ 2.9V
7800GT 500/1200
2 HDDs
2 CDRoms
1 PCI

I believe my HL2 crashes are power related because: I run Folding @ home on both cores (2 instances) 24/7 without incident so that rules out heat. The memory is known by me to work fine at its settings. Also, clocking the vid card down to stock also does not affect it. Under load my 12v rail is reporting 11.7v.

Is it possible I'm beating on this PS and its time for an upgrade?

it doesnt seem to me that your overpowering the bluestorm. try everything at stock and see if this issue persisits. if it does, then you can rule out your PSU.

*edit* :D hit 2[H]4U :D

Well that reading was taken at the desktop with F@H running. I'm going to get another reading with the video card drawing its full load.

OK. After a bit more testing here's what I'm seeing.

In windows with CPU at Idle 12v reports normal at exactly 12.0
In windows with full load on CPU with F@H the 12v reports 11.8-11.9 wavering back and forth
In DoD:S with F@H running in the background the voltage reports a solid 11.8.

So it does decrease the more I increase the load I put on it.
