Looking to replace my old case when I build a new machine. Anyone have suggestions on a great case that is a full tower, aluminum chassis and has great airflow/cooling. I do not water cool and do not plan to, I just want something that keep the stuff as cool as can be with air cooling. I do not care about windows or lights, and price is not REALLY an issue, but I am not spending more than ~250 on a case....less would be ideal in fact.

The new Lian-Li A20 is the fucking sex. It's almost 400 bucks. It's 22" and has PLENTY of room, I would consider it a full tower and not a "super mid" or whatever.

i got one of those rocketfish cases from BB for $50, nice construction, and it's sturdy, basically a re-badged Lian-Li.

i like it :) lets me use my imagination on what to mod and such, already put a window and blow-hole fan in it :)

lian li v-2000 all the way. Its a dream to work in. Now if I could only fill up those 10 empty hard drive trays I'd be all set.

cooler master 830, has mesh sides for ultimate breatheability, able to hold 7 120CM fans, plenty of room, solid build, best case i've ever owned

A70's also an excellent case. I have one of those as a current main build on B-T. V2K is also a top-notch chassis to work/cut on. Any LiLi is probably going to be worth it. You're paying for the quality of construction more than anything else.

IMHO, that NZXT case is targeted more for the baseball-cap-on-backwards-lan-types more than anything else (no offense intended to all the baseball-cap-on-backwards-lan-types! :D) In its defense, it looks solidly built, albeit the obvious Cheiftec-design derivative.

Just all depends on your financial situation, I suppose.

Well, I don't care about looks, I just want a good, well cooled, solid aluminum case that keeps my stuff running efficiently. If I can spend $150 and get something that will do the same job as a $400 case, I will. If I get something for $400 that I cannot get otherwise and it is worth $400, I will spend $400. I hear LianLi are well made, but I don't see how it can be worth $200-250 more than many cases that appear similar.

I was thinking of procuring a Zero myself for my new rig, as it seems to combine aesthetics with a solid aluminium design and plenty of cooling potential (and allegedly the stock fans are actually fairly quiet). The sole 80 mm fan up top is a bit of a mystery (if you're going to put a fan up top, at least make it a 120 mm to make up for the avalanche of dust that'll assail it) but it has a lot going for it. The side's likely to require heavy cleaning duty, but that's a price you have to pay.

I was hoping to see if anyone here had any experience with the case; most cases these days are either horribly bland designs reminiscent of the 80s, or bling-bling ones with full LEDs, and this seems to offer an alternative to those.

Anyone have any thoughts on http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146029 ? Seems highly reviewed on Newegg and seems like a solid case
HDD cooling from lousy to substandard... and while those plastic rails decouple HDD thermally (preventing conductive cooling) they sure won't stop HDD vibration and might even rattle if there's any loose.
And top is thermally worst place for PSU.

Like said Lian Li A70 would be very good choise: (A71 has only additional door)

A7010 is similar except for different front panel and SATA backplane.

These two have easy to clean intake filters.

If you would like all 5.25" design Lian Li A77 would be good choise

Lian-Li's are usually 100% aluminum.
Yep, pretty much only plastic is in insulation of wires. :p

Ill second the RocketFish. They were on clearance from BB from anywhere 42-119.99 but where retail much higher than that.

I bought mine from Ebay, new in sealed box for 88 shipped to my house. I see them on there for buy it nows around 100 shipped every day.

It is made by LL but rebadged and sold under Best Buys store brand.

Rocket Fish +3rded

Lian-Li with non-Lian-Li Price, still the same. Aluminum, Clean and High Quality.
