Very nice.
Is the shroud plastic or metal?
It's a combination of fire-resistant polycarbonate, anodized metal, and die-cast aluminum alloy.

I think the noise IS the problem with those blower coolers though. Blower fans are loud.
Ideally I suppose they could stick with the same sort of heatsink design they use with bower-style coolers today, but instead of using a squirrel-cage fan, leave the card open-ended.yep... it's like a turbine rather than traditional fan blades... I am sure it's been tested, but if you took something like the windforce cooler and sealed all the sides so air goes in the 3 fans and only comes out of the rear, and really open up the back end so air gets out freely. That was my thought... rear exhaust with lower noise? the fans might fight each other with a sort of pressurized flow through the card though.I think the noise IS the problem with those blower coolers though. Blower fans are loud.I am glad people are still putting visual flair on their hardware.. These aftermarket coolers are nice but can they not design one that dumps the air out the back of the case? seems like a much better thermal design getting the hot out - then if they can get the noise down with more and quieter fans it would be near perfect.
anyone seen these in retail yet?
Anyone know if a reference water-block will work? I'm guessing no.

Would be kinda cool to see someone mount a GTX780 to the top of their case using standoffs, then connect it using a PCIe ribbon through a slot in the case (ideally using a case that mounts the motherboard upside-down so the slots are closer to the top).If I ever upgrade to a 780 or better card, I will probably be forced into water cooling just because of this stupid internal case heating factor.
Yeah I've seen a couple painted white, they do look good. But really someone needs to step up and make a motherboard with a white pcb.
Does anyone know what voltage this card is capped at ? I really cant wait for the lightning anymore.
I'm guessing like the majority of 780's (at 1.2v). It looks like a great card, but if it doesn't have voltage control, it can't compete with the 780 classy or upcoming lightning.
Edit: It's now available at newegg btw.
Can't be at 1.2v. I think it has the highest OC record right now? I'm not sure though. Lightning comes out on the 28th and we don't even know what it looks like lol.
Fuggit. I wanted to hold out until the price on 780's dropped but it would probably have been a long wait (or it'll happen after I'm charged). I threw down for one of these. Going from a 480 to 780; this better rock my balls harder than a $700 hooker.
shitty Elpida memory, just like on new evga Classified
Well, the hooker would have likely only put out for one night; I'm expecting at least 900 nights from the 780.for some reason Im thinking the hooker is the better choice
Amazon itself has nothing right now. I decided I didn't want to pay ~$5 shipping and thought I could wait but I'm getting antsy. My order is in but it's awaiting information on when stock will be available. I'll do some apples-to-apples benches on a first-gen i7, 480->780. hehSure would be nice if someone actually posted a review or even a user review of one of these cards. It seems Amazon's stock has gone down from about 15 units to just a few but I've seen not a single report of someone owning of these yet on the internet. So far, it seems the Classified is bar none the best overclocker for the GPU core speed.
Hi All,
I bought this card and installed it last night. It replaced an ASUS GTX 580 DirectCU II.
I think it looks good with my white powder-coated Antec 1200.
As you can see, the shroud does overlap a third PCI slot, so even though it mounts on two slots, this is basically a three-slot card. But, not as big as my ASUS...that thing was ridiculously ginormous.
Very nice man. Love the heat pipes and white pcb. Im seriously thinking about this card for my new build.

Just a heads up, we've got a shipment on the way to NCIX.com tomorrow, so if you're quick you might scoop one up when they arrive next week.
For those asking about overclocking results, I only had a day with the card myself but I tested quite a bit and my top stable clocks were 1280Mhz without Hyper Boost and 1306Mhz with Hyper Boost.
I would certainly like to see some confrmed reports of this kind of speed. That would put it close to what the EVGA Classified 780's are getting. Maybe some users or professional reviewers will get their hands on some soon. By chance, do you know what voltage was used to attain those speeds? 1.2v or higher?
I didn't take a direct measurement on the voltage, but it was set wide open on Xtreme Tuner Plus including the +0.038v overvoltage. Should be whatever the maximum is according to NVIDIA guidelines-- 1.2v IIRC.
One highly respected reviewer has a card in his hands now, so I expect we'll get closure on all the gritty details real soon.
Mine seems to suffer from some buzzing noise, I can alleviate the problem by putting slight pressure on the metal right near the top Hall of fame light. Any thoughts?
And still no report of overclocking...
