"Itch" aka "need desperately because I'm a BF3 idiot".

I want to make the most of my new 120hz monitor at 1920x1080. I currently play on a 60hz 1920x1080 LCD. I play BF3 and I will play BF4. Current rig:

i5 2500k Sandy @ 4.4ghz
2x4GB RAM
6950 2GB unlocked to 6970
Corsair 750w PSU

Should I get another 6950 2GB and go Crossifre or should I sell my 6950 and grab a 660 Ti or 7870? Maybe even something beefier? I'm just trying to get BF3 as close to 120fps as I can with my current CPU.

Thanks for the feedback, [H] mob!

You won't be saving money to get BF3 to 120 FPS.

According to Anandtech the GTX 680 may be up to the task, their bench is 97.6 FPS at full Ultra and FXAA-High 1920x1200, so lower some settings from Ultra.

I'm already lowering some settings to get a high FPS so I'm ok with not maxing out BF3 visually.

Can't go wrong with a GTX 670. Can be had for in the $300 range at times. I'd check out newegg and Microcenter especially. It's a beast of a card.

I've never been a crossfire guy, but I have a similar setup as you and just got a sapphire 7950 with boost. It plays BF3 on ultra.

After some more research I'm leaning towards the 660 Ti. I've been on the red side the last two cycles but the 660 Ti appears to be a great value and overclocker.

7950 is a way better option both in terms of money and performance.

Not sure how much 6950/70s are going for currently, but I run 6970 in Xfire and it runs BF3 flawlessly. I run at 2560x1600, so not sure what your performance would be.

I found a 660 Ti for way less than I could find a 7950 so I went that way. After I sell my 6950 the upgrade cost was less than expected!

I appreciate the feedback as always!

Meh My Rig still runs BF3 at settings I can actually notice the difference on.
