Well my 6 year old Gateway FPD2485W is giving me issues just like described by this thread here:

" Out of no where it stopped coming on. When you try and power it up now you see a quick blip of the Gateway symbol and a quick sound then it just goes black. It even makes the normal little jingle tune when it starts up and then thats it. "
From what I have been reading is that the capacitors in the power supply go bad.. I have no problem changing them out, and see you can buy a kit from amazon:

Anyone have the same issue and replace the caps? I personally like this monitor alot, although the menu can be quirky at times, but once setup it has been fine for me.
