Geforce 3 ti500 or 8600 GTS?

Geforce 3 ti500. By a LONGSHOT. 8600 is a mid range card and isn't worth anything. The ti500 is a high and card (notice the ti).

8600 is like 5 generations higher than the ti500.
4800series, 5900series, 6800series, 7900series, 8800series

The Geforce3 can only do DirectX 8.0 in hardware. You'd want a card that did DX9 in hardware at least for even a secondary gaming box. The first cards nvidia had that did DX9 in hardware was the FX5xxx series.

Hey, my ti200 is still chugging along. It doesn't get much 3D use anymore, but it still gets regular use as a 2D display card.

http://www.nvidia.com/page/geforce3.html

Graphics Core: 256-bit
Memory Interface: 128-bit DDR
Fill Rate: 2.8 Billion AA Samples/Sec.
Operations per Second: 700 Billion
Memory Bandwidth: 6.4GB/Sec.

Beat that!

The Geforce3 is a poly pushing beat. It'll crush any and all of its competition (including the Geforce 8600). Geforce 3 wins, not if, ands, or buts.

those cards are crap!! get a nVidia Riva 128 FTW!!!!

Wow, I still have a GeForce 3 TI 500 lying around here.. somewhere.

BTW, anyone who would ask such a question deserves to have their pc taken away and destroyed.

You Nvidia fanboys, you can keep saying how your cards are so great but the truth is the ATi Rage II Fury is the best.

does anyone else wanna shed a tear for this picture? theres PC Power and cooling, building a unit thats meant for a full kilowatt of power, and its not even being pushed beyond 200. I mean I know thats the joke and everything, but its sad that it really is the truth in alot of examples, maybe not that bad, but people buy these $350 800W units to run them at 300W for all of their lives, maybe seing 500W once.
