INTEL CORE 2 DUO E4300 1.80G/800/2M/S775

*caugh Crysis on high settings*)
ASUS PCIE GF8 EN8800GTS 320M BOX 8800GTS

I dont wanna spend to much but enough for a good school/gaming pc. I will be overclocking so I dont think he will need any faster then that.. Forget about the case because i'll make him pick one lol anywayz thanks guy's hope to hear some feedback soon!

Edit: Forget the hardrive and DVD-Rom I already have spares

u dont have to like my build.
just avoid antec psu's and and the 8600gts, since its way too overpriced

Im getting all these stuff from a local pc store next to me (owner is a friend)

Looking around the forums I see the 8600gts isen't really big I think I might go with the 8800gts

If you are planning on a new gen video card you are going to need something large than a 500w psu, try getting something more in the 550w or 600w range, especially if you get the 8800gts as it is supposed to consume something like 115w of power. Also, why are you going with something high end like an 8800/8600 and then getting a E4300?

the e4300 hits the wall at around 3.2GHz while the conroes stop at around 3.6GHz, given decent cooling, a good board and fast ram.
and divide 3.6/3.2 and u have a marginal difference of around 12.5%, add another 2.5% for the extra 2mb cache the conroe has, and we are talking about 15% difference, which is not worth the extra cash spent on the conroe + decent $50+ cooling + fast ram(esp. with e6300 and e6400) and of course a mobo that withstands high fsb's

for the psu i think 500w is enough, as long as it is a high quality psu

but thats just my opinion, and im very open to correction(s) :) :) :)

Calm down people. Lets forget the nastiness and stay on topic.

Anyway AlphexHunter, Abu Som3a's list is a pretty solid list for that budget. But AlphexHunter, tell us what your budget is. Otherwise we can't offer much help.

ha.. funny

My budget is around 1000$

What do you guy's think 600W should do it ?
OCZ 600W GAMEXSTREAM SLI

No. The Corsair 520HX is a much better quality power supply than the OCZ:
Corsair 520HX 520W PSU - $106

And definitely shop around for the 8800GTS. You can get it for $260 after rebate if you look hard enough.

The 8800GTX only requires a 450W PSU with 25A on the +12V rail, lol. Why should he get a 600W PSU if he's only planning on the 8800GTS?!? http://jonnyguru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=266

Abu Som3a's build is great, but if you're on a budget, go for a cheaper PSU:
$50 - XClio GoodPower 500W ATX 500W
The Antec Basiq series isnt the greatest choice. What are your choices as far as PSUs go? Does the store have a website so we can see its inventory? Check jonnyguru.com forums for PSU suggestions. If you get it from the egg, the XClio 500W Goodpower is a solid unit that can power the system your planning perfectly. The OCZ is good, and the Corsair would be the best choice if you could afford it.

2GB for an E4300 (9*333=3.0Ghz) is only $99 at the egg:
$99 - Super Talent 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2-667 T6UX2GC5

Dont forget a good CPU HSF. If you can find the AC Freezer 7 Pro for around $20, go for it. If not, the Scythe Ninja Plus Rev.B should run you about $40, and can keep your OC'd E4300 cool. An E4300 @ 3Ghz will not bottleneck an 8800GTS.

Funnier than posting the same question 3 times and really showing that you're too lazy to do your own research.
that made me laugh lol. u didnt even bother to find out that i didnt start the thread ;) ;) ;)

your build is impressive as always, but id rather spend 5$ more and get 800MHz ram, as i have suggeted before. it will give him more headroom for his oc and a slight performance increase (cm'on its only 5 bucks)

true true, I didnt notice that was DDR2-800 until this morning, hehe. BTW, its DDR2-800, NOT 800Mhz. The ram still runs at 400Mhz. Kind of like a dual core CPU... two cores running in parallel at the same clock speed doesn't make the overall speed twice as much. DDR2-800 is a speed rating, it doesn't mean 800Mhz. Still, I agree, 5 bux more for DDR2-800 is well worth it from eWiz.com.

Abu Som3a linked to an AC Freezer 7 Pro for $20 in his first post. :)

And it was nice of you to interact with us, too. I hope you don't pay too much for those parts... oh wait, you're buying before the price drops. O wellz.
