Has anyone on here happened to have put a Zalman 7700Cu on a Gigabyte motherboard? I noticed that most companies use simple screws to retain the HSF mount, but Gigabyte uses some type of white clip it appears, and I'm just wondering how much more difficult, if at all, these are vs. the obviously simple screws of ones like the ASUS, Biostar, etc.

I've done it, and its cake. Just use a small flathead screwdriver to push the center of the clips through, and they come right out. Actually quicker than screws.

7700??

SEVEN??

Sure you aren't taking about the 7000Cu? That extra 7 makes a HUGE difference in compatibility.
