I have a new system I built for cheap with old parts that I'm selling. What is a good graphics card for one of these running at 4GHz?

Edit: None of the cores unlock.

I would get the best one that you could afford either ATI or nvidia, then when you upgrade to a intel system like everybody else you will already have a nice gpu.

That depends on the resolution of the monitor and the games the PC will play. If there will be no platform upgrade then a mid-range card like a 5770/6850 or GTX460 would be ideal, I'd guess.

I was gonna say a 5770/6770 or 6850 would be perfect......a 6850 is probably better than what 90% of the general public has for a GPU.

I pretty much have something similar as a linux box - E5800@stock +5770+8G ram Plays all the humble indie bundles + some linux games @1680x1050 no problem.

I'd imagine it should play most win games similarly, although perhaps not the newest ones.
