Hello all

I have an old 22" diamatron crt monitor that is seeing its last days :(. I do 90% photo editing / 10% gaming on it currently but its tube is going out as it's getting darker. I was wondering what the best lcd monitirs 20-24" for photo editing are. I've look over a lot of threads and figured out I don't want a TN screen but it looks like for my price range ~400$ (or even under if possible) I might be looking for an older model so its hard to find up to date info on it.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Thanks Guru, I will definitely look into it. Any tips on making sure I get the better panel?

You mean in regards to that HP LCD and the panel is uses? Hard to say as it's a panel lottery and you may get an S-IPS or AMVA panel. Regardless though, any of these is better than a 6 bit TN panel.

Thanks a lot guys

Promised my mom i'd get her a nice monitor for her bday coming up and then my current monitor starts dimming :(

This will help a lot eventhough i still will be broke after :(

I was also "TN--no" until I saw a $2xx NICE !!
one in Office Depot. It is in one or
two of my recent posts. 22 inch. I thought,
with a TN this nice, why do IPS or 24 inch??
............
still on CRT though.

Would love to grab one of those NEC's but seems like they are sold out now :(
