It currently has a passively cooled sparkle 9400go, it does good for what it is. But im looking to buy a used card to replace it if i will see any gains.

So what could i get away with before i run into bottlenecks with this amd3200? I cant overclock this NF4 board has issues and wont do it.

I really would not get anything faster than a 9500gt. no matter what video card you go with most newer games are still going to be slow with very bad minimum framerates with that 6 year old cpu. that 2.0 3200 AMD single core is horribly slow and it would be like me shutting off one core and running the other one at 1.2ghz. IMO a 9600gt or 4670 would be silly.

For the money, he can get the card I linked for a tiny bit more then a 9500GT. I agree a 9600 GSO might be a little much on that 3200+. But bear in mind I used to run a 7800GT on that same chip and back in the day that was pretty common. And a 7800GT was no slouch.

well considering the small price difference the 9600 would be better. btw even a 9500gt will easily beat a 7800gt in modern games.

Your right on that 9500gt being faster then a 7800gt, but man it's pretty close.

Edit. To stay on topic, what's your budget OP?

Sorry guys, i totally forgot about making this thread. Budget doesn't matter to much since i dont imagine i could ever go over 75$ for a good enough card. That 9600 seems like it will do the job and i can use it in a faster secondary machine later or if i come across a cheap X2 for this one. Thanks guys
