i have my gts fan fixed set at 60% via Rivatuner and it idles at 40c and load temp is around 50-55c. i have it in stock clocks cuz i don't think there's a need to OC it playing CS:S unless i play WIC or Bioshock. but anyway i barely hear the fan. my question is there a bad thing running the fan on fixed?

thanks

Nope, you can hear it a bit at 60% though, if you want it dead silent setup a profile with Riva Tuner so it only kicks up to 60-65% when the temp goes over 55-60c!

If you're not overclocking it, why not leave it on the default fan profile? It doesn't get especially hot.

i have the case CM690 and i have 6 fans on low speed, so i dont hear the gpu fan at all unless its 100%

i don't OC when i'm playing CS:S and i normally run that on windows so i can surf the net (porn)on the other monitor when i'm dead:D also i hate to see my temp over 50c+ on idle.. i'll definitely replace the stock fan when i see the SC1 available somewhere..
