gtx 480 hdmi multi channel audio out

Ok i may or may not be upgrading to a 1440p display. This will be dual link dvi.

However i would also like to upgrade to multi channel audio via the hdmi connector. Is it possible to send audio via the hdmi connector to my receiver, and video to my monitor via the dvi connector? Or am i stuck with hdmi video out only if i want multi channel audio?

Nvidias new drivers have an audio output panel section that lets you choose which physical connector is outputting the audio stream. They should have had this a longgg time ago! Its great
