I just bought a GTX260 and I'm a bit concerned that my psu wont be able to handle it. Currently I have a 450W OCZ modstream with 26V on the 12V rail. Nvidia recommends 31A for the card. Is there a risk of permanent damage if I run the card and my psu cant handle it?

Permanent damage is awfully hard to predict however under powering is not a real good idea. I would suggest a bigger PSU just to protect your investment and if you think two of those cards might be in your future now would be a good time to buy for now as well as the future.

Take a [H]ard look at the [H] PSU reviews, there are some great choices there.;)

I would wait to use that card until you get a bit more power
