[H]ot - eVGA GTX260 SC - $179.99

I'm not sure if it was linked to that site. I read a review Reseller Ratings stating that Comp-U-Plus is the same site as ElectronicaDirect.

If that's the case, then we're good. :)

Oh, and you can get the SSC version for ~$200 (plus shipping) at Comp-U-Plus using Live Cash Back. Link

Looks like a New York based retailer. I think the addresses they give are in NY, and when I got called the woman on the other end had a somewhat discernible New York accent.

Ended up getting two, one for a friend who is building a new system. He'll be thrilled. And if for whatever reason he doesn't want it, there's already another friend that missed out that'll be happy to snatch it up.

I just hope it goes through, I'll be watching my e-mails like a hawk. How soon do you suppose they'd cancel it if it was an error though? I would have expected a cancellation to arrive sooner though.

Well, they told me it'd be shipped today and my CC was charged, lets see what happens. Still haven't gotten any sort of tracking code.

I'm kinda thinking mines gonna get canceled....no big deal as I have no use for it but at that price I had to buy it....we'll see what happens...

I spoke with a rep. from ED and she said I should expect an email notifying me when it ships. She said I'll probably get it tomorrow or the day after along with a tracking number.

I won't be devastated if they cancel it, but it seems like this deal is really happening.

I ordered it today at 1 p.m. Do you think I will receive it by Friday if it goes through?

Smoking... I missed the Amazon $180 part but got in on a $240 shipped with $35 cashback from Live.com SSC eVGA GTX 260. I'll replace my GTX 280 with it and keep a couple hundred bucks in-pocket after the 'Bay :). Thanks OP!

Haven't received any cancellation or confirmation by email so far, hoping it'll ship...

I'm positive it will go through now unless they're very lazy in the billing department. They sold out, and had to change the page to reflect that, as well as answer dozens of phones concerning the status of it. If they haven't caught the mistake and started sending out cancellation notices yet, they won't be doing it.

I wouldn't count on it, it was the end of business day for them when they updated the website, and the bosses might've been out, tomorrow morning they might come in and cancel all orders as price mistakes or something. Even such big companies as Dell and BestBuy are taking their time before cancelling price mistakes, some companies (TigerDirect, for example) go as far as to intercept shipped packages... Besides, they might have simply ran out of stock a while before it got reflected on the website, and again, since it was the end of business day, no one would've noticed it ;) PUt it another way - yes, since no cancellations have been sent out yet, the chance that they'll start coming in tomorrow is smaller than today, but still, there's such a chance ;)

+1:D

They charged my card, but I don't see any cashback just yet.

EDIT: Cashback just showed up :D

Well, maybe it's my pristine work ethic (haha!), but I'd imagine in a case like this where you're almost grossly underpricing something like this and receiving a plethora of orders for it, attention would be brought to the matter rather swiftly. I couldn't imagine at this point, them not wanting to involve some sort of management and getting charges refunded rather quickly rather than let the problem get any worse. Probably about the same time they would have pulled the item from the website. Granted, if it's EST, then likely most were at home for the day and we'd know first thing in the morning, though I'd imagine then that at least some of the people calling in to confirm the order, asking about shipping dates, etc. would have gotten word from an informative CS rep that the product was actually mispriced, out of stock or otherwise unavailable.

I imagine bigger names like Dell and BestBuy may be able to get away with this a bit more because they're big names and can make a lot of side sales by drawing people to their site (which is probably the main idea anyway) while smaller and less prominent names have to rely on customer service to retain their customers and make a name for themselves. While not always the case, and at this point I am really hypothesizing, I'd imagine in this case they'd have at least better customer service than the standard Dell or Best Buy CS, which means I would expect them to fix an error like this rather quickly. :)

Now, I'm not going to exclude the possibility that they could invalidate the deal on the premise of a mispricing, however as we get more positive confirmations of shipping dates as well as other information from callers, and as time goes on it seems less and less likely that this is going to be the case. Needless to say, I'd be surprised if I saw two cancellations in my inbox tomorrow morning.

In the event that I am wrong though, I will be glad to admit it, and will likely spend the rest of the day fretting about the dead deal. :(

Anyway, here's hoping I'm right. :D Let's be optimistic, shall we?

lol sure, sure :) However, considering that nvidia is rumored to be close to releasing an updated gtx260 that will have 216sps vs current 192sps (8800gts 512 anyone?), these prices might just turn out to be an effort on the part of EVGA to clear out stocks (see another thread on ClubIT - same price, pretty much)..

I thought that in order to qualify for the $40MIR it has to be sold and shipped by Amazon.com, not just sold through Amazon.com from a third party seller

Isn't that how rebates on Amazon usually works?

Exactly what I was gonna say before. Rebate for Amazon.com purchases, not its resellers.

I just contacted CS again, they said that it would probably be shipped tomorrow, Friday, but it may go out today. But it's already "processed." We'll see if it ever makes its way out of the facility :-/

You can also check through Electronica Direct's website as well with your Amazon order #.

beacons post from the nerds thread -

I spoke to nerds CS, said it was a special sale until 10AM est time this morning. Apparently "it was a sale eVGA was giving [the nerds]."

So if what he was is correct, this is a move on eVGA to clear some inventory, which may explain the recent rash of cheap cards.

EDIT: also, i'm about fed up with Electronica so I asked him to extend the sale to me, but he wasn't able to.

Ive noticed a few smaller retailers with a quick sale on EVGAs GTX260 so hopefully all the orders will be processed and filled. ;)

I just called ED to ask about the time my order would be shipped out. The representative said my item was over ordered and they don't know when my item will be shipped out. Take in mind I ordered this yesterday at 1:00 p.m.
