Hey PThinker, why are u looking at this setup? Usage model\purpose?

Have you considered 2 30" and 2 20" (non widescreen)?

I have thought about this, and right now I would need to add a 30" to support this, but since I really wanted to use it to supoort a laptop external sreen and my laptop does not have Dual Link DVI, I might go for a 32" 1080p LCD instead.

is 2 20" flush with the 30" ones?

A 20" 4x3 monitor rotated 90 degrees should line up with a 30" monitor.

You can go to displaywars.com, to see how certain size monitors line up. You can't rotate them on the site, but you can see the dimensions to get an idea of how they would line up.

I have a single Apple 30" Display would love to add 2-20" LCD's on either side, but good luck even finding 1600x1200 rez LCD's anymore, they seem to have gone extinct, or if still for sale are really high priced for no reason. Widescreens is everywhere now.

You can get a killer 22" widescreen LCD for like $299or less, but a 20" seem to still be selling for $400+ each  + hard to find

This seems to best non widescreen still for sale, and it has height adjustment which is needed. So two of these should go along each side of a Apple 30"or Dell 30" pretty well ? Now how to you get games to run at this crazy rez, of what like 4960x1600

Ok, now for my other computer which is using a Dell 27" LCD, 1920x1200rez, what size LCD's would need to go on either side to make that surround ? I mean you still can't use a 1600x1200 LCD just keep it in regular square view on both side, that would give a crazy rez like 5120x1200  Has that been done ?

5120x1600= 6.1Megapixels, yes has been done (search in Show your LCDs)

but that is not a crazy rez, look my res of 4960x1600= 8Megapixels, and I have seen folks here with 3x2560*1600 (3 30") = 12Megapixels. Now that is starting to get crazy ;)

Man these 30" LCD's are looking nice. A lot bigger than my dual 24"....
