Can someone with a HD5870 run the Microstation benchmark for me: http://appsnet.bentley.com/mstnbenchmark/MstnBenchmark.exe

Quick and easy. Just uncheck both options before you run it and when it finishes just save a local copy when it asks you and post those results for me. Only takes about 1 min to download, then about 30 seconds to run. Thanks-

Also, be sure to list your CPU and what it's running at. Thanks again-

Thanks. Anyone else getting the same results? Benchmark seems to be very CPU dependent. So, I wouldn't expect much variation unless your CPU is at a much different clock.

With the specs in sig. What the hell? Mine are a lot lower than NeonGuy. Scratch that, not a lot lower, I'm getting HALF the performance NeonGuy is getting. What is up with that?

Change your CPU speed and see what happens. 4.3Ghz vs 3.4Ghz is a big difference for this benchmark. Although, your numbers do seem lower than they should. Did you make sure to uncheck the options for "Run at native resolution" and "Test all Monitors"?

It should run at the standard 1024x768

I'm not sure- I'm trying to figure out what effects this benchmark the most as it is supposed to give me an idea of how the software I use for work will perform. I'm finding that a GTX 285 gets beat by an HD4850. So, it obviously is not all about the GPU.

With the 5970, as far as I know, the benchmark doesn't utilize both GPUs. I found this to be true with a 4870X2 vs a 4870. So, theoretically, a 5870 should be able to match a 5970.

HD 5850 at 1000core and 1250 memory, it is stable have played dirt2 for a few hours at those speeds. it doesnt make much difference other than couple of tests, at that resolution I guess it is more cpu than gpu.

looks like the test is very cpu limited.. just screwed around with it on my GTX 260 since i've never seen the program before.. but loading up 1 core on my phenom II 940 cut my frame rate in half.. also i wonder if the aero on w7 desktop has an effect on performance as well which could be why your friends system did better then your system Justinsane since he was on XP and doesnt use aero.. but i guess i could test this by running it full screen with my left monitor enabled and then disable it..

darn nvm doesnt do 1920x1200..

The below results is for a HP z800 workstation with single E5520 Xeon CPU, 12GB memory, Sapphire HD5970. They seem faily low? This is running Windows XP 64-bit, Windows 7 64-bit returned slightly lower results again...
What I didn't expect and I am rather dissapointed about is for the Gefore GTX 295 to be signaificantly faster on the same system in several areas which are very important (red). Can anyone shed some light on a possible reason for this? Are the new drivers to blame (version 8.663)

seems nearly worthless for a GPU test, it only increased my GPU temps by 2-3C so it definatly isn't using much gpu power.

yeah its 100% cpu bound.. i think it only takes advantage of the shaders on the gpu not the gpu.. not to mention the test is really only worth running on XP since aero effects the performance with it in windowed mode on vista/7..
