Heads up: DX 9.0c end-user available

You have to have an active connection to download that version.

I prefer the redistributable version because you only have to download it once. Its a pain to have to re-download it after you reformat. Especially if your on dial-up like me.
 
True enough, but the web version is "smart" and knows only to download what you need. IE: on a DX9.0b to 9.0c upgrade on a Radeon 9700pro, it downloads 9.7MB. The full redist (link at bottom) is 34MB.
 
Yes but its only 34MB ONE time. After you download it you can just store it on your HDD somewhere or stick it on a CDR and you'll have a quick and painless DX9.0c install when you reformat.
 
Well, you could just wait for SP2 then, and have it included along with 54 XP critical updates ;)
