ok.. im in quite the dilemma... im going to be ordering an LCD within the next couple days and the budget is $400 and nomore...i should also include that i am a pretty big gamer.. i plan on keeping the CRT on my desk and running dual monitors depending on how i can rearrange my desk...
now i have narrowed everything down to two choices...

19" BenQ FP931 - http://www.benq.com/display/lcd_fp931_specs.html
or
17" Samsung Syncmaster 710T - http://www.samsungusa.com/cgi-bin/nabc/product/b2c_product_detail.jsp?eUser=&prod_id=MJ17BSABY&selTab=Specifications

here are some quick specs, and both monitors support DVI and are native at 1280x1024.

Brightness 250 cd/m2
Contrast 450:1
Viewing Angle (H/V Degrees) 130/130

Display Colors 16.2 million

17" Samsung 710T

Brightness 300 cd/m2
Contrast Ratio 600:1
Viewing Angle (H/V) 160/160

i appreciate all feedback but i prefer it be kept toward the topic :) .. so straight up, which monitor would you choose, whats more importnat.. the clarity and performance or the size.. thanks guys

unless your ordering from newegg, i would consider the fp937v instead of the fp931. difference is 12ms instead of 16 and 500to1 instead of 450to1. I ordered on of these just recently, but im still waiting for it to ship. Was gonna order the fp931 from newegg but this ones specs were just enough better for the exta $65 dollars that I switched. I just hope pcmall gets more when they think they will. This moniter is sold out across the web.

yes but as i said my absolute spending limit is $400.. i just would like a comparison between the two monitors i listed

The 710t is a favourite around here (and just about everywhere else).

I don't have any lcd monitor experience, just relaying the news.

Oh, and just by looking at the specs it seems superior to the BenQ. Of course, all specs are taken with a grain of salt.
