I'm trying to get a phpbb forum imported for a friend and really have had no success thus far. He has given me a 30mb .sql file from the last backup before his host nuked his site.
My first attempt went like this: Using phpAdmin, I created the mySQL db, clicked import and directing it to the .sql file. It uploaded the file but most of the cells seemed to be incorrect. For example it has the correct number of users but all user names are blank. Then I uploaded a fresh copy of phpbb with the correct .config file but nothing seems to be there after I run install.php.
If someone has experience with this sort of thing and could lend some advice, that would be awesome.
