I have a P55-UD3P motherboard, and Gigabtye havent updated drivers for quite a while. Under windows 7, i get 6~MB/sec write speeds to USB, yet under a ubuntu live disc, i get 20-30+ MB/sec on USB thumb drives.
heres what it looks like in system manager

it says under driver details:
Date: 20/08/2009
Version: 9.1.1.1020
Now Intel released updated drivers, INF_allOS_9.3.0.1019.exe for the P55 chipset
running the exe didnt seem to do much, it looked like it kept all the older drivers. Ive tried updating from command line using the following flags (-overall overwrites all drivers) but while indeed that took alot longer to install, after a reboot it still shows:
Date: 20/08/2009
Version: 9.1.1.1020
after talking to a friend, it seems that infact all the Intel driver does is refer to the MS USB driver, and calls it 'Intel yada yada' instead of 'Standard USB host'... thus, its the MS one which is slow?
Any help would be awesome, as im sure you can understand, 6MB/sec takes a fair while
