Hi all

i just upgrade my HTPC i had a 4800+ kicking around so i bought a M3A78-CM and 2GB crucial DD2 800 ram 1x250 wd sata 1x1tb seagate sata

i wanted to keep the noise down as much as possible so i have the PS fan one 80mm exhaust and 80mm intake fan and the stock AMD HSF, cpu temps at idle are around 38-40 c but when i am encoding i have seen the cpu temp get to 57 c but playing back any media, temps don't get much higher then idle. so would it be worth it or even nessacary to replace the stock cooler with a Zalman cpu cooler

Those temps are a little high but not critical. If your system isn't crashing you shouldn't have to worry about aftermarket cooling. Although it wouldn't hurt, might even take the noise level down a bit if you get a quiet cooler.

yea they have a ultra quite all copper cooler i think i will just pick it up.

thnx
