I was installing my 3rd HD for my main computer today and got the question in my head, I was wondering how many HDs everyone has in their main computer. So how many do you others have?

I have 2. 160 and 80 gig

I want one of those massive storage systems like a RAID 5 and all that but thats a tad expensive. My secondary storage is my computer #3, 80gb and 200gb.

2 , a raptor "primary"and a 120 for storage. in main rig never needed or see the need for more

my main rig has 4 300gb maxtors and 1 74gig raptor. 1.16TB online in the system.

TV fan. I get all the TV shows off BT, but only OTA, nothing premium to keep it legal.

I have a set of Raptors 74GB Raid 0

Another set of Raptors 74 GB Raid 0

and 2 - 200GB HDD's

So total 6

2 - 160 GB Western Digital 1600JB and a 120 GB Seagate Barracuda.

Currently wanting to buy a third SATA drive for data.

1 40 gig one (basically all programs)

1 10 gig one (OS and OS related thigs, like spyware and virus blocker)

1 60 gig one (Games and my home videos)

8x 200gb ide raid5 in file server for storage
2x 18.2gb scsi ultra2 raid1 in file server for system

1x 160gb sata in desktop
1x 60gb ide in external for mp3 backup & whatever else
1x 6.4gb ide 2.5" external for easy mobility (no power bricks yay)

assorted other drives in old systems (all sub-15gb) for their system drives

plus the 40gb in my server back home that gets a nightly rsync update from my file server to backup my mp3s (after losing 1/3rd of my mp3s, a while back, I'm very serious about backing them up now heh)

I only have one system for primary usage, see below...

One 40 gb hard drive 7200 rpm, 2 mb cache from Maxtor that is my main system drive. This was the first drive I bought about 3 years ago to build this system and didn't have a ton of money.

About 6 months later I bought a 120 gb SATA drive from Seagate to hold some more of my audio/video files. Then after another 6 months I bought a matching drive. I figured I would run RAID-0 for the performance but decided against it. One drive holds music and cd images, the other movies and video editing stuff.

At one time I figured I would buy more drives, like a few 200 gb drives, but I've never had the need as far as space, so there you go.

I've had up to:
5x scsi 4gb disks in raid5
1 8g ide
1 4g ide
1 2g ide
2 27g ide

in one machine. 10 disks, only 88gb of storage. Now I have 1 disk with 200gb.

Damn, a 100GB zip drive huh!?

Well that's what the box said that I bought it in... surplus stores are fun. ;)

Still, even if it's 100MB :( still good for $4.

13Gig secondary [ Soon to become a linux partition, I swear I'm a glutton for punishment ]

Second computer has.

10 that work, one that probably works but I don't want to bother to test yet, one that is good and dead, and a ginormous one that's like 2nd-generation or something. Don't think that one works and even if it did I don't think I have anything that can talk to it.
