I'm running 32GB now and I bought some parts for a new machine, I will use 32GB as well.
I considered 64GB, but I don't really think I have a need right now, and it will be easy to upgrade later if I change my mind.
In any case, I'm rarely going over 16GB in any games I play, so even 32GB is overkill outside of maybe for VMs.
