How to remove Malware

A friend of mine thinks they may have a piece of snooping software or App installed on their phone. Things are happening like information that may be from recorded calls, broken passwords etc.

What software would you recommend to find and remove it?

Tons of options. Malwarebytes used to be a good place to start. The free version should still do the job. Combofix is a great solution for win8 and older.
