How would a Noctua NH-D14 fare against a Swiftech H220X?

for 4770k.

I hear AIO watercooling systems are on par with high-end air coolers. my 4770k is currently at 4.5, 1.2v. It gets reallllly hot.

At stock voltages and light overclocks they might be on par, but as you raise the heat water coolers will have an advantage.

I switched from an NH-D14 to a Nepton 140XL and it meant roughly 10-15C°drop in temps.

I'm running I7-3820 @ 1.45V 4.5Ghz

AIO watercoolers being on par with high end AC is true only when we evaluate Astek made trash.

Kraken X60 and Swiftech H220 are in their own league

H220 is only ~2C cooler. X60 fares better with ~6C improvement, but for almost double the price. Plus the added pump noise and usual water cooling caveats. Not that impressive.
