Does anyone know if the dv6000 series pavilion notebooks have an internal usb port. I was thinking about putting a usb bluetooth adaptor in their.

What you mean internal usb port? Like inside the notebook that can't be accessed from the outside. If you mean that, then no computer in the world has usb ports that are INSIDE the case.

Otherwise it has several usb ports that you can plug stuff in around the chassis.

In fact, laptops made in the past 10 years have had them.

No, I mean inside the case. Alot of laptops like dells have a usb port inside the case that they use for stuff like bluetooth. My desktop has one to that is used for a media card reader.

In the thousands of notebooks I've worked on, I've never seen one feature an internal USB port/header like a desktop motherboard has. Generally, they have some sort of propretiary connector or miniPCI slot.

Alot of Dells have internal usb connectors, specifically for their bluetooth modules... I assume they're proprietary though as they look nothing like the ones you see in desktop boards.

OP:
Somebody bought the HP part, 412766-001: http://www.planetamd64.com/index.php?showtopic=29266
HP manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00751094.pdf
No idea if that's another type of propriety usb port if it's a proprietary something else. So basically you either buy the HP part or you do some soldering.
