My current POS CRT (a Hansol 710D) is dying very quickly. The screen cannot hold a uniform shape and it is pulsing in and out at the edges sporadically. Also, at 1024x768 @ 70Hz, the geometry at the edges is all off. It's also been excessively dark (IE I cannot see the color seperation between the two shades of black on this forum/post, but I know they are there from seeing them on other monitors) and I feel like it really is just about dead. So, I went ahead and decided "hell, I use my computer alot, I might as well be happy with what I am looking at", and I got a Samsung 193P.
I don't game religiously, and I have this funny feeling nothing can really be worse or disappoint me after this horrible CRT, so I'm hoping I'll like it, but, anything I should know now that I'll have it tomorrow?
I obviously know to calibrate it (I'm hopefully also going to do ISF DVD calibration with Avia) and the like, but anything else? Any tricks with this monitor?
Thanks
