I need a sound card - specs/requirements inside

So I've got about 100$ to spend on my rig and I figured my sound card could probably use an update.

• USE: Gaming
• PRICE: 100$, give or take
• SPEAKERS: Logitech 540, 5.1
• CURRENTLY: VIA VT1708S

I've read a bit about some of the problems with Creative's drivers, so I've kinda ruled those out but any kind of input or advice would be more than welcome.

Some of the games I commonly play, it it can help:

• World of Warcraft
• Battle: Bad Company 2
• Dead Rising 2
• Team Fortress 2
• StarCraft 2

Nothing all that special about gaming sound these days. Marketing maddness about EAX is largely overblown.

I did read that thread, but there didn't seem to be a specific suggestion for gaming use and the OP ended up picking up the X-Fi Titanium. I thought Creative drivers were shoddy.

I ended up pulling the trigger on an ASUS Xonar DX - I was driving next to the store and figured I might as well pick it up while I was around.
