I have 4 monitor in mind and your help would be greatly appreciated.
They are all 24" and all have 1000:1 contrast with 450cd/m² to 500 cd/m2
BenQ FP241W: From what I read so far possible issues with ATI video cards (?)
Firmware update requiring you to mail the monitor to California
Minor reddish color adjustment
Cannot confirm if this monitor uses 8-bit panel
Expensive
Supposed to be HDCP compliant
1:1 only with firmware update.
HDMI port
FP241W 16ms, 6ms GTG
FP241W Z 16ms, 6ms GTG, 12 MPRT <--better then FP241W
FP241VW 16ms, 6ms GTG, 12 MPRT
SAMSUNG 244T: Appears to be the best monitor in it's class however expensive
Some minor color adjustments
Not HDCP compliant
1:1 supported
8-bit panel with low response time
1 set of component inputs
Input lag: One case input lag was removed with a G7 and a ATI 9700. Appears to be sensitive to mouse poller rate.
Dell 2407WFP: Very popular monitor among many users on this forum.
Minor banding
Built in USB hub and card reader
Minor issue with lower brightness then other monitors in it's class.
You must use the A04 in order to get 1:1 pixel mapping
Lag found when watching movies, A04
Gateway FPD2485W: Major Banding issues
Humming noise from rear of earlier models, not found with later models
Color issues
Brightest monitor in it's size
Issues at lower resolutions appear to be video card related
2 sets of component
Better PIP use
Are found in brick/mortar stores like Best Buy/Circuit City
Need to get a MGK71 or newer for best results.
Currently selling the MGQ71 however, what's been improved is still unclear.
MGL6B appears to be the worst revision of them all.
These are just a few opinions that I've come across with each monitor. I would prefer to go to a brick/mortar store but they only sell the Gateway in my area.
It's my opinion that he Dell and Gateway monitor are mor a like then the 244T.
