Has anybody else experienced a problem whereby FTP files are being reported wrong in IE6/7 and have a solution.
Basically i have various files on our LAN that are over 3GB in size, so that people can get them without any hassle i put the file on a FTP server and had a html page link to the various files. For anything over 2GB Internet Explorer will report the wrong file size and download just part of the file.....after looking on google for ages the only answer i could get was that it was a limitation of 32bit operating systems, however IE7 on vista64 is also showing the same issue.......firefox of course works 32 or 64bit.
Anybody know of a solution? The FTP server is correctly reporting the right filesize to the client (IE6/7) but the browser is seeing it different

BTW i cannot install any additional FTP software on the clients, or tell them to move to firefox
