hey there, was just wondering if the iMac allows for the connection of a second display for an EXTENDED desktop. (i dont want to mirror it, i want to extend my desktop)
i know the PB does, but thats too expensive...

cheers,
Julian

You need an adapter to get VGA out, and even then it only does mirroring.

You can, however, use this to unlock screen spanning. I'm told it works very well. I guess the answer to your question is "yes."

hmm... if only this patch worked for a mac mini aswell!! unless you know of another thing that allows for dual display on a mac mini? physically i reckon its impossible since there is only one output but ive heard of a USB vga adaptor of some sort.. hmmm

The Mac mini only has 32 megabytes of VRAM, right? It's not really enough to power two displays, regardless of whether or not it's possible.

yeh lol.. true... hurry up apple with your venture with intel!! (surely that would cause G4/G5 prices to plummet...)
