By updating my chipset I have resolved my stuttering issue with crossfire I was having with Darksiders. Now I can play the game stutter free thanks to this chipset update for the X58.
To properly update your chipset drivers and override your default Microsoft drivers use the overall command.
For example:
Start>Run>CMD
Cd\<where you downloaded the chipset drivers to>
C:\<where you downloaded the chipset drivers to>INF_allOS_9.1.2.1008_PV.exe overall
This will open the installer and will override your old chipset drivers with the newer intel drivers. Your monitor will go into sleep mode and return. After the updating is complete dont forget to reboot your PC. Now go to your device manager and look at your system devices and see that the dates have changed and it should reflect 2009 and 2010 driver date instead of the default Microsoft drivers that was previously installed. Hoped this help you multi-GPU guys with your stuttering.
If you want a more detailed explanation of what is going on read this thread ( http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=326404 ) the OP states that to achieve a proper update you must put the installer in compatibility mode. This isnt necessary. All credit goes to Year for showing me how to properly update my chipset for Windows 7 64-bit.
