Hi,
i use my Intel SASUC8I only as a simple HBA, with no RAID. My problem is that drives never spin down. Today i installed the Intel RAID Web Console 2 just to find out these configuration settings in "Advanced Software Option" category :
Unconfigured good spin down: Disabled
Hot spare spin down: Enabled
What i would need is to enable Unconfigured good spin down. The question is how i do that ?
Edit:Oh, i found a thread here, saying it is not possible. Well, it was worth a try .
Edit2: But maybe there is a hope ? http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=12767.msg121129#msg121129
Edit3: Nevermind, Windows is stupid. This stuff works with linux (hdparm -S /dev/sdX), but with Windows it ends up with error.
