If you don’t want your boss to see your boobies, you probably shouldn’t use an iPhone app that exposes you after you exposed yourself.

You see, Ashley used an iPhone application called Quip to send a topless picture to her husband who is serving in a warzone overseas. But Quip had a massive security flaw. It works by storing pictures to a server. The flaw allowed users to type in any five letters or numbers and someone else's picture would appear.

"I paid money to have my life destroyed," Ashley says"

Think of it as an opportunity for a career change, honey.

I'm making a big assumption that these pics are worth looking at...

I love how showing your bits destroys your life... there are bigger things in life than that

Yeah something else that will blow over. "Oh my god, my boobies is all over!"

Seriously though, this particular girl sent naked pictures to her man overseas, using an account that ties back to FB/whatever page that probably has her real name and location. Google Google, now I Joe Schmoe knows her address and phone#, and whatever else. Back to facebook, oh hey looky at all her friends, what she likes to do, who she works with, her boss's name. Google Google.....

I mean common people? At least try to make it a little harder?

They have a video with pics. but her face and breast are blacked out.

Yeah, it was crazy how many exaggerations the article had. 'Her life...now ruined.' 'I was getting messages like 'Hey is that really you, you're really sexy'. I didn't know people could be so cruel (I don't know if the news people editted it together that way, but that's what they have her saying.)

Then the article talks about how exactly you can still go and look up the pictures. Kind of the opposite of what she's want isn't it, at least according to her?

Aaaaaah can you say...APRIL FOOL DUMB ASS!! people will never learn toys are not fool proof or guaranteed to be secure!!:D I really don't feel for these idiots!

Ashley nude get 1,410,000 results on Google's image search. There are so many nude pics on the internet you should be more embarrassed if there aren't any revealing photos of yourself out there.

"bladevenom nude" came up with pictures of snowman porn on ATOT.

Sorry for what happened to this lady..she is not like a lot of ladies who post stuff for most of the world's male population to view. Unfortunately a lessoned learned that NOTHING is as safe, secure, private or nonpermanent that is put on the Web as any of us would like. This here stupid post of mine is probably going to outlast me by decades on some server or archive hard drive somewhere. And boob pics are like zombies.. they never die!!

Also, just another reason NOT to put more than the bare (no pun intended) minimum basics on Facebook.. and never add your BOSS as a friend!!

I wonder how many of those search results came AFTER she whined to the news about this.

I never understand why people would go to the news to complain about something that has something to do with exposure and it's destroying of their lives.

Does lay low mean anything to anyone?

I didn't see in the story that she said she lost her job, only that somebody emailed the pic to her boss. That sucks, but I don't know if it qualifies as "ruining" her life. I don't blame her a bit for sending her deployed hubby some naughty pics. This is just bad luck.

Why would somebody need a specific app to send pics on an iPhone, though? Can't you just send a picture message?

Only if the receiver has MMS capabilities on their phone too

It'd be swell if you wouldn't post NSFW pictures on the NEWS FORUM, that people might be browsing while AT WORK.

well the news story suggested NSFW content... and yeah, i'm still a "newbie" cuz i just usually read.

expansionsss effing delivered. maybe some people shouldn't be browsing hardware forums at work

I didn't stumble on this at work and I'm really glad I didn't. I barely troll forums at work cause of small incidents like this.

However I do read HardOCP at work, because apparently my job is awesome and I get this little thing called self-governance. You know, where your worth is not judged by an arbitrary rule set created by men in suits but the quality and quantity of your output.

That being said, common courtesy should have led you to insert that image in a URL tag with a NSFW warning.

I mean, seriously?

I was going to click "report", and then I got distracted for some reason... :D

(prolly gonna get banned for posting tits?)

Affirmative.
(It is not my forum but I suspect you are toast.)

I would pull the image if I could but no rights in this forum.

False. If you were right, the post wouldn't have gotten deleted. Think about it.

Ah one of those people who clicks links before reading? ;)
I'll assume you just didn't know that "expansionsss" had posted the actual picture of the half naked woman in a rather large format. (wouldn't have called it a thumbnail, not that that would have been appropriate anyway) If you did know he posted that, now deleted, post, then I have no idea what you're talking about, because I'm pretty sure this forum is supposed to be work safe.
;)

You're an idiot. You have no idea what my job might be.

Anyway, to post on topic, this blows for the person that put out this app. I have a feeling they are going to be legally raped pretty soon. This woman needs to get over it, though. I really don't think her whole life has been torn asunder because of her nipples being on the internet.
