Ipod keeps showing "charging" until I unplug

I've got a 20g 4g which, when I charge it using the mains, will keep the charging message on no matter how long I leave it plugged in for. If I unplug it after a few hours, then plug it straight back in, THEN I get the charged message. Is this normal?

mine does that as well, but I never plug it back in to see if it says charged... I usually just leave it plugged in for an hour or something and then take it off... (usually an hour before i go to bed or something)

Are you trying to use it while it is plugged in?

My mini does that too. I think that's just how these crapz work.
